I would love to see more companies pursuing this angle. But policy at the state at City level are the limiting factor. Single family zoning effectively bans walkable cities. And the vast majority of America is single family zoned.

The SUV craze needs to end. Even if all SUVs were electric they would still have the fatal flaw of killing more pedestrians than sedans due to their height and visibility issues.

Because we don’t charge for roads, users “pay” in congestion delays, so as we widen roads more drivers can use the road at the same “price” measured in minutes of delay. In some cases You might say that increased capacity induced hesitant drivers to drive.

I used to believe that self driving cars were a panacea for mobility. Then I moved to Boston, sold my car, bought a bike and realized that in dense urban cities, cars are the enemy, doesn’t matter if the are Electric and autonomous. They generally don’t fit in cities. Cities should be built for people not for single occupancy high speed, deadly cars.
