But this is a bit of a dark area. Even if Google stopped pursuing the patent, who is to say that someone else wouldn't?

This article has it completely wrong. I work for an email tracking company and you can still have tracking tools but the ballpark has changed drastically for collecting user information.

Sadly, I feel this will hurt the ones without a proper IT force the most.

Shit. That's a good point, I downloaded the Heroku CALI during the attack and it uses duplexer3. I got a weird message that seemed "off" during postinstall.

Reminds a whole lot about remembering to use prefixes in CSS when building browser compatible sites. I use a tool to automate this nowadays but this is just flat out silly.
