I would proceed like this : 1/ talk about it with friends you trusts and could bring you objectives review 2/ contact people in the industry that could be interested in your product and ask them if the that product is really usefull to them and if so, how much are they willing to pay ? 3/ start to code the product (MVP) 4/ launch with few clients (like a beta) to make sure the product make the job and find the bugs 4-bis / when making enough money, resigne from your current job 5/ launch worldwide , get techcrunched, rise from Sequoi and retire the next day :)

Hello,

I don't see the value your proposing. I've various cloud storage account and they don't need to be ruled as one. Each of them have a dedicated purpose and they may stay appart from each other.

your website is no good. I should understand what you're proposing in a second. And most importantly, the colors you choosed is like 20 years old ! Take a tour to https://kuler.adobe.com you'll find some nice and beautiful fancy color package !

Your name is hard to remember and doesn't tell anything about your product.

To conclude, I would say I don't know if you're on the good road for succes, I don't need this service but hey look ! there's plenty people on internet !

corentino | 13 years ago | on: Show HN: My first webapp. Build with rails, backbonejs and lots of love.

I got a question and a feedback : 1/ how do you make money ? Do you get a commission for each theme you sell

2/ It would be great if you had some info about the theme, for example, when I'm looking for a wordpress theme, I want to make sure its design is responsive. You should add some theme info to your app !

Great job anyway ;)

corentino | 13 years ago | on: Ask HN: who started something in 2012 that didn't or won't become profitable?

I launched http://www.jaimelesstartups.fr with a friend in mid february.

Goal is to make french startup famous ... in France. No ads ! No business model ! (cost us zero since it's hosted on my server I use for my projets) We started with 3 visitors/day now we are at 200. Got a partnership with the French techcrunch Got contacts with famous french entrepreneurs to interview

We are happy and we continue to work hard (I work all day long) Actually, I'm working on the design (which is not that easy for an engineer...)

Any feedback are more than welcome

corentino | 14 years ago | on: Ask HN: Launch a reddit like website in France

http://www.quora.com/How-did-Reddit-get-initial-traction

Bon courage

I'm working on the marketing/traction strategy for my second startup. Lack of marketing was the reason of the fall of my first startup... so I don't want to get burn a second time. I'll share some stuff on HN in a few weeks :)

corentino | 14 years ago | on: Ask HN: Share your successful and unsuccessful launch strategies

it was 5 years ago, first startup, first launch...first fail :) What we did : We basicly made a press release with a pr agency and sent it to a bunch of various journalists. and we wrote manualy to about 20 influential bloggers. contacted them by email to discuss about our project and eventualy make them write an article about us. What happened : We got cited in 2 national TV shows and in the #1 blog in france (I'm french ...) What we got : For each citation (tv or blog) we got around 5K visits but only one or two conversions... What i learned : -our subscription process was too complex (3 pages) -we were not clear about our proposition -we used some flash (long to load) -our design was not good enough (too much amateur, didn't confort the visitor about the quality of our product) and most importantly, don't rely only on press/blogs coverage
