cskakun | 10 years ago | on: Ask HN: How do you track issues, todos, features?

The search for a perfect todo, project management app and bug tracker is the perfect distraction. I think what we want the most is the ability to schedule and forget about it until the time it's ready to be done. I've used Todoist, Trello, MantisBT, my own home made todo list and a dozen others. Nothing ever beats pen and paper or just a good review. I'd say Trello, Todoist and a good bug tracker are enough for any small team. Larger teams, I can't speak for.

cskakun | 11 years ago | on: Ask HN: How to train yourself to become a quick thinker?

I think it's all practice, and a little natural talent. Then again I can't say I'm the fastest thinker. That is, I don't know. I've never compared myself.

What you're talking about here takes practice and a super powered brain. But at the same time, maybe you need to be more specific. I ask myself these questions sometimes as well. Try learning a diverse skill set, rounding yourself out. At the same time, know and accept the brain's limitations. For example, you wouldn't start a car in 5th gear. But those are the kinds of things we do with our psychology all the time. Like multitasking, stressing ourselves out, fatiguing our brains, eating shitty food, breathing poorly.

But why is quickness so important?

Drugs, in the right doses, can sometimes help you do this.

Maybe understanding "why" would help as well.

I'm also moving back to Postgres. Postgres was the first DB I used when I learned to code PHP. MySQL came later. Just recently, around a year or two ago, I got introduced to Mongo and all its surrounding hype. Mongo is good for small small apps that need no references and have a low requirement for speed and data integrity.

cskakun | 11 years ago | on: Ask HN: I need an actual GOOD analytics tool

I damn well don't mind the promotion if I find what I'm looking for :)

This looks like a big improvement over the above. I see sources, individual hits and events for all types of things.

One thing that gets on my nerves a lot is the need to change projects to view individual stats. Maybe this is still here but hopefully you have an API to pull those stats in another view? :D

Looks really good. Can you send me an email at clinton.d.skakun at gmail.com to tell me more about the paid plan? I'd like to know how many projects I can add and the views for projects.
