So: 5 mod 2 would be 1 because 5 divided by 2 is 4 with one left over.

I do not like this explanation and just don't understand what the author is getting at with this example. The answer of 1 is correct, but the explanation is just plain wrong and that makes it tough to agree with the author's thought process through the rest of the article.
