Although capitalism could provide us with used laptops for decades to come, the strategy outlined above should be considered a hack, not an economical model. It’s a way to deal with or escape from an economic system that tries to force you and me to consume as much as possible. It’s an attempt to break that system, but it’s not a solution in itself. We need another economical model, in which we build all laptops like pre-2011 Thinkpads. As a consequence, laptop sales would go down, but that’s precisely what we need. Furthermore, with today’s computing efficiency, we could significantly reduce the operational and embodied energy use of a laptop if we reversed the trend towards ever higher functionality.

In the backend I have a database of Bulgarian podcasts shows. The database is updated every 15 min. I had to built it as its not easy to find good Bulgarian podcasts in large podcast directories. Aside of this search engine same database is used by an Android app which loads and plays random episodes from the database helping people discover new and interesting shows.

- Using robot.txt assumes they will 'obey' it. But they may choose not to. Its not mandatory in anyway.

- Yes, they can fake UA. This does not mean I should not take any measures to block them just becasue they can fake.

I find it relevant especially in the lights of the recent developments around birdsite, meta expansion at fedivesrse. Back to the roots may provide new paths and ways to save the interweb. Not saying we should all go back into the gopher hole but just maybe the answers for the future can be found in the past...
