I've previously used O&O ShutUp10++ when I was still using Windows. Seemed to work well without issue. Certain Windows updates would reset some of the settings.

on: Ask HN: Have you tried weight loss drugs?
If you can withstand the first few days, a lo carb / zero carb diet will do wonders for your appetite. I don’t know what the long term impacts are of such a diet but I do know from personal experience that it’s drastically improved my ability to withstand cravings.

It’ll be interesting to see how Apple markets this at WWDC. Will they explicitly say that OpenAI is powering this functionality?

on: Ask HN: How to re-kindle my interest in computer science?
Ran into a similar issue. Lost my passion for software development. Thought it would help to learn a new language or framework. I was wrong. What did work for me was getting completely out of my comfort zone. For me that is reverse engineering particularly in the Windows space along with kernel level programming.

Vulnerability analysis and subsequent exploitation development. I would obviously need way more time than that to be good at it but I've always found the topic interesting.

on: Scrum has failed the developers
Ashamed to admit I was once a Certified ScrumMaster. I’ve grown to realize that it’s too difficult to implement. The gains, if any, aren’t worth the effort and overhead. As the agile manifesto says: “Individuals and interactions over processes and tools”.
