It is silly to assume that more SDKs = more developers .

None of the SDKs are simple to use. The Webworks doesnt work behind a proxy. Ha. The whole process of signing your applications is so bloody time consuming and complex that I havent bothered to upload my apps there.

Apple has been consistent in it's policies. It has always been a closed castle. That is one reason why I haven't spent any bucks buying Apple products. One good thing about their consistency is that their browsers and other software is pretty good. Safari is much decent browser than crappy IE.

Microsoft on other hand has always grown with partners. They are not a closed castle. So when they try to gag a great software like Firefox I am upset.

This comes at a time when Linux based OS like Ubuntu are perhaps as good as Windows 7. MS is hurting itself.

I just hate the headlines. In one of the first lectures in my post grad school our prof. told us how to critically examine research papers and claims. He said "If anyone claims to come up with something "revolutionary" you should be 10 times more skeptical about his claims. It is very likely that the person probably doesn't know what he is talking about."

Of course in these cases the news reporters are to be blamed than the scientists who worked on the proble,.

I am a loyal blackberry user and personally feel it is a nice phone. However I am unhappy over the fact that the company doesn't seem to give a F888 to it's users. For example the cheapest Android phone in the market that act as a Wifi Hub but my blackberry curve 3G cant. Also, most of their OS update come separately for each carrier. That is outright nonsense. While Email is their strength they have done very little upgrades to their email interface.

One feature that I want to see is, the dates in my emails should be highlighted and I should be able to directly put reminders in the calendar application by selecting the date. iOS does it but BB wont.

I wonder how many SKUs RIM must be maintaining and this must be damn complex for them. Besides they should understand that their brand does not have any value anymore and hence stop seling crappy phones at such a high price.

I think a large portion of online life is already ruled by Google. I will never use Go only because it comes from Google. A mobile with Google's OS, a Google browser and Google for email and now we will also code in a language controlled by Google?

I have nothing against Google, but as a community of web developers our interest lies in diversifying and ensuring that no one gets more powerful than us.

Also looking at the features of Go itself, it seems to me that the languages caters to many needs of Google and not many of us may have those needs.

Government was forced to make such decision because Bayer sold these drugs at a price unaffordable to most Indians. This to me seems like a very stupid decision from Bayer's management. The shareholders must act against the board now.

however because of such decisions companies will find it risky to invest in life saving drug research. I think government should also take some steps to win their confidence.

I got my bachelor's degree from a college where in one course we were supposed to learn Java. The teacher use to write the example code from the textbook onto the board and then dictate short notes on concepts like "Inheritance" , "Encapsulation" etc. According to her Interfaces in Java existed because they enabled programmers to overcome the lack of multiple inheritance. You can implement as many interfaces as you want but you can inherit only one class. That was her argument. My college was ranked 60th best college in the country that year.
