on: Sweden brings back military conscription
Its more about creating a delaying force against the "zerg rush" towards the capital than actually defeating an attacking superpower. If they can hold off the attacking force for 24-30 hours, they will have done their job.

on: U.S. motor vehicle deaths see biggest two year jump in over 50 years, per NSC
Wonder how much of this can be tied to the economy getting better and more people buying/driving (used and less safe) cars when they previously couldn't afford to.

I wish they released a realtime cut of this. I feel like some of the quirks have been obscured with sped up footage.

Trump also doesn't drink, so I don't see him being the leader in relaxing vice laws.

Huge fan of EMDR. Worked at a PTSD decompression camp in NH for returning military. Had no experience with that type of treatment till I got to the camp. Blew me away. The changes that can happen after only a few weeks of therapy was impressive.

on: Apple Abandons Development of Wireless Routers
From my point of view, the market is saturated with all these startups offering mesh wifi services that are already "Apple-fied" in terms of simplicity to setup and activate.
Why bother developing in that space when you can just buy whichever startup matures to the largest market share? Throw those engineers somewhere else.

Either way, Samsung will have their 60% post-consumer bag on the market before Apples.

It doesn't surprise me at all they would drop this kinda cash to get an early one off the line.
They do the same with all their competitors. (Yes even hondas)
Get one early, measure tolerances, get one 6 months later, see if their manufacturing practices got better.

Don't brow beat me too much for this but I don't understand why the Government doesn't get one of their defense contractors to hire away an Apple engineer or three who helped write this code and just do it themselves. I know the timeline wouldn't be as short but then they wouldn't need to go to Apple.
