I've gone through two interview processes in Norway – none of them took longer than ten days and I can't say I have heard about anyone else that has been through months-long processes either. (I'm a software engineer.)

Not necessarily. They also give you a “gibberish” address to the account. So if I use “foobar” as my mailbox on mailinator, they will list an address like M8R-wk43th@mailinator too, that does not let people log in.

Slightly off-topic: How much do you break down concepts when using Anki to learn a programming language? I use Anki for tonnes of stuff, but haven't used it for learning programming languages/APIs.

I would actually recommend visiting Shenzhen as well. I have been there a few times over the last five years and it's really interesting to see the rise of luxury items (fancy cars, expensive (real!) handbags and the token iPhone and iPad) in the city centre.

Shenzhen is even in China (though, in a special economic zone).
