I don't think this is an either or thing here. Coderbits is different from github. Coderbits is about validating claims of proficiency by pulling data from various online sources, and github is one of those sources.

I would say Coderbits in in competition with [Coderwall](https://coderwall.com), and from first impressions, yeah I'd prefer bits over wall. And also in competition with Stack Overflow careers.

Well pretty much anything you'd not be comfortable being in your bookmarks. Maybe you're a closet gay, atheist or have a weird/embarrassing condition that you're researching and don't want those links saved in your bookmarks.

And the biggest use case - read later! Using bookmarks is a horrible way to save stuff you want to read later. Often times I even forget I had something bookmarked to read later. A nice browser extension that shows if you have any links in the queue. You could probably build on of the xstashed code, and turn it into something more innocuous - maybe ystashed

Anyone with half a brain would now think twice before even applying for that job now.

When I clicked on the link, I thought it was an ad for a company that produces or sells security products - pepper spray and the likes, or maybe for a company making a new security app that would automatically text police/friends with your location if certain conditions were met - and there are a few apps like that. While in poor taste, nay abhorrent, it wouldn't be surprising for a company to try and exploit a tragedy like this for capital gain.

But the thing is, their product has nothing whatsoever to do with security! Who is the moron who thought this up? If it were my company I'd fire the person on the spot - not just for being an @#%@@#, but also for coming up with something so idiotic. And if the founder/owner was the one who came up with this, then I'd get the hell out because I wouldn't wanna work for a complete and utter moron.

Not are they completely insensitive, but they are monumental morons.

I found The Dreaming Void a few years ago while wandering a library desperately trying to find a good science fiction book to read - none of the suggestions I got from friends were there. I'm so glad that none of the suggestions were there.

Alan Turing's contributions to science and the war time effort were immense, and immeasurable. However, granting a pardon to him and him alone won't mean much. He was guilty. The law which he broke was draconian, no doubts about it, but it was the law at that time. I do not think he was the only Briton who was oppressed because of that particular law.

If there is a pardon, and there should be one, it should be granted to everyone who was convicted under that law.

Nice, love this game. There is a similar(very similar) game on my cellphone involving a helicopter, but without any enemies or things to collect. This is definitely much more fun than that.

Just for kicks I searched for 'search engine' on Google - once on Chrome(logged into my Google account), and once on Firefox(not logged in). Didn't get Google on the first page on either searche, did get google custom search engine though(which is a completely different thing). Duck Duck Go was in the first page both the times, as were Bing, Yahoo, some engine called Dogpile(never heard of 'em but it was #2 on Chrome), the Wikipedia article for Web search engine and a few other links. There was a list of popular search engines at the bottom of the page in Chrome, DDG wasn't there, but lots other were, and it was compiled from other sources.

Don't see much discrimination there. Especially when they don't even list their search engine on the first page
