If you're doing it for the sole purpose of wasting their money then it's pretty unethical. That's why in law they always talk about intent.

I hate the ad model too, but you're stealing bandwidth and hosting. Delivering those pictures and text comes from somewhere, and ads are how they're hoping to pay for it. Justify it to yourself how you want, but it's true.

Cause it's just a tool. A tool that promotes laziness in communication and personal contact. All for the low low cost of all your privacy so they can sell you to whoever. It's a convenient tool though

Only tip is learn to program.
Unless you already have funding and can pay the CTO then what you're asking for gets asked millions of times a day. You have to realize it's easier to come up with an idea (I'm not going to debate the worth or potential worth of your idea because it's irrelevant here) than it is to execute it. Ideas, both good and bad, are a dime a dozen. Developers are the harder asset to find unless you're willing to pay them. Good luck in your venture though.

Congrats and good luck. I thought about building something similar about a year ago. It's an interesting and petty simple test for a bit more accurate tracking of reading. Never thought about trying to monetize it like this, however, so I'll be paying attention to how you do.
