on: Co-founder exiting after pivot – what's a fair exit package?
Might not be the answer you want but ask for a vacation. A long month away might be enough to clear everything up.
Doing startups is tiresome.

on: Ask HN: Why is Pave legal?
My guess is that they would argue that most of the data they use is public, just go on LinkedIn and look at 10 job listings to have a range.

Hey HN!
I'm Esteban, the founder of Watermelon [
https://www.watermelontools.com/].
Coming into 2024 we want to grow and help even more people but are asking ourselves if our messaging is correct. HN is our target of devs and Eng Managers so your input is very important.
Some things we are not changing:
- Webflow is staying cuz it's fast to iterate.
- Our logo happened before the conflict so it's hard to change now.
- We still use GPT so we are not fully open source, but we are planning on allowing users to use their own LLMs, give us some time!
If you find anything else we'd love it if you told us, you can comment here or use our discord [https://discord.gg/drNQeZqhbB]

on: Ask HN: Is there a non smart 4K TV?
I just want to plug my chromecast or my Apple TV. No need for apps or updates. And please no WiFi.

Oh!
Will fix that. Yes JS and TS are even what we build it in!

Thank you!
Yes, we settled on booking to the brand, who knows, maybe they will add us to their portfolio.

What would you like to tackle in Swift?
Do you have a repo I can snoop around?

Hello, Esteban, the CTO here.
I hated PR review in my last company and decided to fix it along with my best friend Esteban (yes, same name!).
We created a system that tags your PRs, gives you context from other services and checks for common errors, and would love your feedback. Install it and see it in every PR.
For now, it’s free for the first 500 PRs per month.

on: Ask HN: How do you learn Rust in 2023?
Thanks!
I am looking at The Book (
https://doc.rust-lang.org/book/), but hoped there was an amazing person on youtube.
Yeah, I'll build something, finally trying webassembly.

Blame gives you the committer.
Watermelon givees the ticket, PR and Slack thread, and also the committer.

We might also extend it to other services, and have a browser extension.

Our attack surface is big, yes, but think about slack or Apple notes, where people keep the actual api keys.
We could be a risk, but I, as CTO have ensured to the best of my knowledge it's hard to do. If you want to talk more about it, I'd love to do so, learning would be great!

Honestly, we start the convo by saying we don't store code. That is what eases them into accepting.
We care about privacy, that's wy we are open source.

CTO here!
On the github action: it is in development and will soon also be open source!
Find us on twitter if you see any bugs, we don't like fruit flies.

Hey!
This is great insight, honestly wasn’t aware and you’re right.
Any chance of sending a PR for this?
Would you be interested on talking about employment with us (open to part time)?
We are a fully remote company.
