I've interviewed with GitLab when I first changed my career into software engineering, a few years ago. It was a bad call in my opinion since I'm not as good as I thought back then.

However, is it a good idea to apply again since that was a long while ago and I've accumulated a considerable amount of experience compared to what I was?

And can you do your own independent security research when you're working for GitLab? What's GitLab's stance of this situation?

It'll be nice if you can post your/a recruiter's email ID here - I'd like to send over a couple more questions.

evanslify | 6 years ago | on: 2015 MacBook Pro recall: batteries overheating

I had an mid-2015 which battery did swollen after 8 months of usage. It bulged the trackpad towards the screen and making a dent. Apple does count that as part of in-warranty repair though.

A very expansive battery repair for Apple.

By the way, their repair would take longer than an entire week, which is worse than most laptops vendors.

All links in "Current Hiring" is broken, although link contains some part of the url you intended. Also, if you're hiring for US citizens only, maybe it would be a good idea to mention that in your post?

Author of comment here: Doing this alone doesn’t do any harm unless running htop in background, also this only makes the bug happen more quickly. If one has Activity Monitor running prior to crash, it’s still possible to kill htop with it and would make OS useable again.

I’ve been finding the root cause of this a month ago, but don’t know where to look due to lacking of experience in kernel debugging. If anyone here could lend me a hand, please send me an email at (es at evsfy dot com)

This exists, but not much. As a matter of fact, many healthcare workers (especially registered nurses) work very, very long hours and get way less paid than they do in other countries. Also I would expect quality of surgeries would drop in future years due to lawsuit or lack of trust between doctor/nurse-families of patient causing doctors/nurses quitting.

Why the author doesn't call out widely for assistance even if physically threatened/assaulted, but choosing to avoid all confrontations instead?
