Last week I put most of my belongings in storage. I drove my cat & car down to the parents house for the holidays. Jan 1st 2013, I have 0 obligations. My "big plan" for 2013 is to have absolutely no plans. Pretty psyched :)

I'd argue that the real kicker is motion associated with mouse location to draw the user in... This trick has been around for ages, though you definitely did apparently find a crafty implementation.

I must say that one of the things I value most is the fact that as a Hacker, I have also worked extensively in Landscaping, Kitchens, Coffe houses & Hotels. A wide range of interactions & processes in one's past can always be used as perspective when approaching the next fork in the road.

This is more ground for the fact that we might not be in a bubble with major financial crash risk like the .com bubble. The fact is that engineers who are building and inventing new technologies are building a societal system (possibly unintentionally) that puts technology, rather than people, at the top of the game (especially in terms of efficiency & profitability).

While we may, as the tech industry, be relatively safe in the foreseeable future, this article really makes me question what we, as engineers, designers & general tech lovers, can invent/build that will allow future society to not only take advantage of our technologies (as end-users), but also allow individuals to make money in an increasingly digital and on-demand world.

GitHub is doing a fantastic job of building a consistent presence from top to bottom. The changes as a whole have been extremely impressive over the past few months. I, as a designer that uses GitHub on a daily basis at work, am very enthusiastic about the latest updates, the new commit styles included. The GitHub team has been extremely quick to iterate and launch updates recently. I'm sure there's plenty more to come.
