> These things, which we state lightly enough here, are yet of deep import and indicate a mighty change in our whole manner of existence. For the same habit regulates not our modes of action alone but our modes of thought and feeling. Men are grown mechanical in head and in heart as well as in hand. They have lost faith in individual endeavor and in natural force of any kind. Not for internal perfection but for external combinations and arrangements, for institutions, constitutions—for mechanism of one sort or other do they hope and struggle. Their whole efforts, attachments, opinions, turn on mechanism and are of a mechanical character.

Yes. Most of the work so far has been PR. There have been no actual solutions presented that can prevent more than 2 degree rise in temperatures. We are already on track for at least 2 degrees and more. There is also the fact that the oceans are great reservoirs of energy so even if we manage to reverse the trend because of the energy stored in the oceans we will have to live on a warmer planet for several decades. This is assuming we actually start reversing global warming, which there is no indication that current market driven methods can address.

All social media platforms subvert human drives in favor of creating consumption habits that are destroying the planet. Even by your own admission you are addicted to Twitter, which should be telling you something.
