He worked his ass off in an I.T firm, became good friends with the CEO...and helped grow that company. He made Director in 2 years. I think what bothers him is that he busted his ass to make that company big, and made his boss SUPER wealthy. So although he's making good money, if it was his own firm, he would've been a millionaire by now.

Paul,

I think this is where he fits in. When him and his wife were making only 40K combined, they carpooled to work, lived in a 700sqft apartment, barely went out, etc. Now that they got some money, they bought a decent house ($250K), 2 cars, and they started paying off loans etc. He said even though they make $250K, his monthly expenses are over $7-8K. His whole thing is that he wants to be "financially free". I think his business ideas all are focused on MAKING MONEY, hence why he keeps failing.

Hey man, thanks for your detailed feedback. You brought up a lot of good points, and I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

I am definitely going to focus a lot on my diet (substituting veggies instead of rice, eating more fish/chicken, cutting out fried foods etc). I plan on sticking to 1600 calorie intake, and I'm tracking everything on MyFitnessPal.

I do however disagree that P90X is a complete waste of time. There are tons of people who follow the program and get great results. It might not be the most "ideal" way, however it is very systematic, measurable, and goal oriented (90 days). It's also a mix of not just strength training, but also yoga, plyometrics, and Kenpo-X. In Plyometrics, you do a ton of squats. You're also doing a lot of pushups (which is an alternative to bench press).

It's overall a great workout that I can essentially do anywhere without the convenience of a gym. I plan on sticking it out and monitoring my progress. If I do get a little extra hungry, I plan to snack on healthy fruits/veggies, almonds, or drink a protein shake. Good idea about the negatives. I'm going to try that out. Thanks again for your feedback.

I'm sure the money would go towards the following:

1) Infrastructure 2) Building out a kick-ass enterprise sales force 3) Global expansion 4) Acquisitions 5) Liquidating existing investors

Not all lecture-based schools are crappy. However, the reality is that the more practical experience people have, the faster they learn. Having a boring "lecture" on Perl is less productive then having a quick 10 minute session on building a Hello World app using Perl. People essentially learn by doing, it's as simple as that.

It's about time we see some disruption in education. The old school methods of schooling will not work in this day and age. For example in the tech sector, more companies are looking for graduates that have experience rather then just a CS degree. There are free resources to learn how to code like Codeacademy, Udacity, Coursera, Mozilla’s P2PU, Google Code University, and MIT Open Courseware. There are also more and more high-quality paid resources, both online and off, like General Assembly, Treehouse or Bloc, not to mention local continuing ed classes. Mr. Khan and Peter Thiel are headed in the right direction.

FYI, I'm not part of any of the above listed companies. I just thought it was an interesting article that's all. I've never even heard of some of these companies until I read that article.
