A bowl with dolmas (stuffed grape leaves), marinated beans, Greek salad, olives, and even a precooked protein can be made entirely from canned and room temp ingredients.

If you can open the freezer, ceviche is a really nice food to enjoy with fresh veggies and requires no heat.

That said, I agree with the others here that a camp stove would be worthwhile if only to feel like you’re eating a true at-home dish rather than a backpacking meal. You can likely get away with this in your garage so long as you maintain good ventilation when the burner is on.

I believe they accounted for this in the lending tree article. Looks like the main cause is units for rent at 26%, and units undergoing repair are at 6%.

I’ll say from personal experience it is somewhat rare to have this one month gap period between renters. I tend to see the super (manager) paint the unit in 1-2 days or even overnight. Then repairs can happen as the tenant reports them while living in the unit, barring any severe damage.

Aside from the in-seat power, I think another likely solution will be third parties like Belkin making a less "apple-esque" but longer lasting battery that's compatible with the magnetic connector. The OEM solution looks quite small as is. [1]

It doesn't need to be USPS specific, but that is an interesting thought. Many new neighborhoods have spots for postal workers to park and distribute the mail on foot. This is typically faster in my experience. I don't think it's a big leap to also have those dedicated spots have chargers.
