That subscription fee is rooftop level stuff, I know it's NY Times and all, but they need to slash that fee!

on: How we built News.me, a social news reader for iPad
Nice idea, keen to see how this catches on. The idea of charging money for people's twitter feeds (which is free) is one that might throw people off though.

good point. Make people log in to comment (and use that to judge expertise), but anyone can vote for whatever. The fact that I make a lucky guess about something that eventually happens, doesn't make me an expert. What the person says to back up predictions however is a real deciding factor.

Lovely design and good effort on the coding. I just don't like that having to log in to vote bit. It's unnecessary in my honest opinion.

on: Show HN: Causerific - Locate Good Causes and Charities in your area
This is a side project I always wanted to put out. I have found that a lot of people actually want to help good causes or charities, but are financially unable. With Causerific, I have added features that let you find the causes within 50miles of your exact location, so even if you can't help financially, you may be able to donate your energy and time to build that playground for the orphanage or put together a house for the homeless. Feedback of ways to proceed with this would be appreciated! Thanks HN
