Where to even begin. 1. Temperature - The higher the temperature difference, the faster the loss of heat. How will the steam maintain it's energy (temp) in that long pipe. 2. Drilling each borehole is no small feat, and uses lots of energy and materials, all of which have associated embodied energy costs. Is is really worth it once all that work is done? 3. Geothermal. Interesting analogy, why not just use that instead. Boom, no additional radioactivity required. This whole things sounds very Rube Goldberg machine like.

Lol. At least it's listed as 'Opinion'. All the issues raised have been addressed which still leaves the question unanswered. Aliens? Maybe, but maybe not the ones we are expecting. More data is always better.

This question always seemed strange to me. Jobs that no one wants to do, simply don't get done. Simple. If people want something done, they will do it. Not for pay, but for the community. If everyone is truly too selfish to do vital jobs we have 2 choices. Come up with some other way to accomplish the same thing that people do want to do, or that society fails. It's not what people want to hear, but relying on people to be desperate enough to do jobs which they have no say in, simply to avoid dying, seems like a good recipe for a lot of inequality and resentment. Oh wait...

The only way this will happen is if the shareholders realize that they can save money, and generate even more profit for them. Perhaps we need to demonstrate this experimentally and compare the results to CEO's in similar industries. Then watch as it is immediately and resoundingly banned through legislation and rhetoric.

Nuclear power is great, on paper, but in the real world humans have demonstrated over and over again that they cannot be trusted to a) Build it on time b) On budget c) Without corruption, skimping on materials, or taking shortcuts d) Regulate it properly e) Hold those involved accountable f) Design and implement a robust plan to store the resulting waste in a responsible manner

Just look at the medical isotope shortages that have occurred. As a species we can't even see the need to have redundant sources of life saving materials that can only be produced in specialized reactors. What if something happens to them unexpectedly or they need maintenance? Shrug... is the answer we get.
