guest666 | 11 years ago | on: Ask HN: Has anyone found a good co-founder using “founder dating” techniques?

I attended many of these events. IMHO, these events are practically useless like what mighter said.

I am a business founder with slight knowledge about tech. Being a business founder, like mighter said again, it's hard to sell the idea to tech founder unless you prove yourself. Rather than wait for the right person to come, I decided that I bootstrap myself and launched the site.

I am still looking for that one CTO because I want to apply for incubator (ycomb, techstarts, 500 startups), but now having a fully 100% working site and some early traction, I hope I am able to attract a more credible CTO or other type founders.

If anyone here (CTO, CMO, etc) is interested to find out more, please email me at (there are 9 6's in the email)

guest666 | 11 years ago | on: Ask HN: Can someone with no visa (or wrong visa) create a Corp or LLC in USA?

Thank you for your clarification.

"The founder or the LLC or Corp have to stay in US using the same process they used when they entered US"

If the founder of the LLC / Corp enters the US using an F1 visa, how can they stay in the US? F1 visa will expire no matter what, Bachelor usually have about 6 years, Master have bout 3 years, basically F1 holder can not stay in university forever.

H1b visa can expire too (up to 6 years), but with H1b, the employer can sponsor the H1b holder to greencard.

What would happen if the startup got acquired and the founder are F1 or tourist visa holder? Can they get paid if their LLC is a US based company?

wow, thanks for the quick response.

Does it mean a foreign national can 'legitimize' their business just by registering an LLC or Corp in US? What I mean is that there are many startups that are not registered in US, and usually have a credibility issue if they want to launch internationally. One way people can get legit quickly is by establishing a US presence, why? because most (if not all) legit famous startups (FB, airbnb, uber, lyft, whatsapp, etc) are US based company.

then they can start scamming people (i.e run away with customers money), or if things don't work, they can just escape and not paying the LLC/Corp tax.

guest666 | 11 years ago | on: Ask HN: What is a good free chat software solution for a website?

i can host a chat, but what is the advantage vs one that is hosted by the chat solution company?

The one that is hosted by the company is very simple to use, only copy and paste their java script to the html header file, create a username, and can be used within 5 minutes.

The hosted one takes a little longer to setup, but other than security factor, what other things should I consider? cause i provide chat just to improve conversion and customer service only.

since i m just starting up, i think hosted solution is too overkill?

Thanks for the suggestion.

Google still won't allow their users to use the url name as my nickname

for example, my email is [email protected], i want to use url plus.google.com/+guest666, but google won't allow me to do that, even when guest666 is available to be claim. They force me to use +(my name)
