Talk to your family ASAP.

You are either being followed as you said, or you are having a psychotic break, both scenarios are dangerous.

You need help from someone you trust, usually family or very close friends.

There is maintenance! Build any corporate software or mobile app, things will stop working eventually due to api integrations or deprecated dependencies. Even if you leave your software untouched

Jambu taste/effect is very weird but very pleasurable. I really hope it launches and get popular.. I live in south of Brazil and NONE of my local friends ever tried or heard about it.

gusbremm | 3 years ago | on: Ask HN: Experiences with low-code systems?

I worked for a while on a Mendix app and it felt interesting in the beginning but quickly I started to hate it..

Low code can deliver some features 4x faster but sometimes a stupid feature can take 20x the time just because the low code platform wont support that. Or sometimes the solution is so ugly that the whole project becomes a mess.

If you want to deliver top quality stuff you are constantly fighting the low code limitations.

However, if you are OK with low code limitations it can be benefical.

gusbremm | 3 years ago | on: Are Buy Now Pay Laters the Next Bubble?

In Brazil, paying by installments is a culture thing.. for instance, most people really don't calculate how much a smartphone will cost as long they can afford the installment. Even pharmacy.

I read sometime ago that Brazil was the only country where certain luxury brands would accept installments. ( Jewelry, watches, etc ),

After that dosage (wasn't my first try, BTW), I felt really well, the trip was very good, I felt light, I managed to deal with a lot of inner problems I have been carrying since kid.

But I was unable to sleep. I stayed awake for 3 days in a row, then I completely lost my mind, I was mixing reality with fantasy. My wife took me to emergency were I was given antipsychotics which broke that state and I was able to sleep.

But for the next weeks I had crying episodes out of nowhere and they gave me a higher AP dosages.

Slowly I was able to stabilize, but it took me months. The AP side effects were also awful.

Did the mushroom trip did this? Probably not, but it trigger the sleep deprivation which chain-reacted to something worse.

Agreed, but for instance, I am working on a project hosted on AWS where the trigger build action is not allowed for my user. Empty commit is my only option.

Back in 2008 I was doing a lot of flash banners. Some clients would request the swf file to be as small as 9kb for a multi-scene banner.. It was a pain in the ass but we managed it most of the time with no design changes. We would spend a lot of time tunning image compression params to get the smallest swf possible. Sometimes the image quality would get awful.

Today, my clients just don't care at all if the frontpage is 10MB as long they can have a multi banner hero with a video running in the background.

Side note: I worked on a chatbot widget project where the tech PO was pushing us to move from react to preact to save 8kb on a 60kb script. I said, why bother? There is a 1.2MB image on the front page. Just give me access to the front page assets and I can save 800kb alone on that image.

With power comes great responsibility, psychedelics can bring positive effects as much it can bring negative effects. I got really fucked up with a moderate dosage, I was unable to code for months. But on the bright side, I was able to suddenly stop hair pulling, which is a condition I have since kid.
