>Europeans seem perfectly comfortable cracking open a 1-euro tetra-pak of wine for guests. Germans, for example, pay just $1.79 on average for a bottle of wine.

I stopped reading here, b/c that's simply not correct. It's true that most people don't spend more than 5 Euro on wine and that you get great wine around that. But except for students getting ready for a binge, nobody considers tetra packed alcoholic grape juice as wine.

I also wondered about this fast-food-soup or restaurant dichotomy. You can eat quite cheap and fast while healthy - f.x. full-wheat bread with avocado and onion.

That's a funny way to put it.

I can say from personal experience that actively learning to be mindful - meaning present and sensing - instead of constantly being obsessed with thoughts and mental picturing of the future and the past - has a very positive impact on my well-being and that of the people in my environment who I communicate and interact with.

I am definitely going to give this course a try.

I am curious about the advantages of a newsletter over a blog featuring an RSS feed that you can subscribe to. The concept of getting mailed regularly seems so 1.0 and overcomplicated.

But my question is serious - I also maintain a data science blog and I'd like to evaluate offering a newsletter version of it.
