on: The Frankfurt Kitchen
> I just don't get how somebody can cook frequently and even semi-seriously and have the fridge, sink, and stove all two or three yards apart.
It works for restaurant kitchens. In my own, definitely not "dream" kitchen, I find I would like more space so that my prep area isn't also my pre-wash staging area and my stove isn't coating everything I need to store around it with steam.

I'm not familiar with The Register and haven't seen this anywhere else. Does any know of another source that is reporting on this?

I currently still use tables everyday in my job as an email dev. Tables might not be "wrong" but they have serious limitations that have to be worked around.

Depends on how the targeting is done. You can be aware of a product but not looked into it or purchased it. In that case the targeting is trying to move you along to become a customer.

How is tipping at a bar harder? You just write on the bill what amount to want to tip when you close your tab.

on: The Age That Women Have Babies: How a Gap Divides America
You're probably being downvoted for not explaining what the book taught you that makes you cringe. Saying you read a book and now look down on some common, innocuous matter comes off as pretentious if you don't bother to give any insight.

Seems like a useful term to know. Too bad the wikipedia article is too dense to understand.

on: CS50, Harvard’s Largest Class Expands Its Line Up of Courses
> I took a quick look at one the courses, and it seems the lectures are not taught by David Malan, but people in his team.
I think this is important to keep in mind. I watched all of CS50 and then moved on to the React Native course and the quality of the lectures was not the same. They were still informative but for anyone ready to dive into these know the experience will not be the same.

What happens when my trash, or even something I purchased that later became trash because of someone else, finds its way outside of normal disposal routes through no fault of my own?
