I like to keep things as simple as possible. I just write my blog posts directly as HTML, using Svelte+Kit as my technology stack, hosted on a cheap Hetzner VPS. I didn't want to learn or build a static site generator, and my articles mostly consists of a header and a bunch of <p>-s anyway.

I mostly work in an office now for my current client, but have the flexibility to be able to work from home if the need or want arises. It's great. My family lives in different cities, and I have the opportunity to visit them frequently because of this. I can take the less expensive trains and flights, because I don't necessarily have to travel on fridays and sundays. And of course I get to stay longer, and just work from home there.

This was incorporated into the show Joe Pera Talks With You[1], where a new kid begins in his class that was raised on research base in Antarctica. This is the only case I know of this being mentioned in any popular media. Would highly recommend the show, there isn't really anything like it.

If you don't use Wordpress, what do you use to write posts on your blogs? Are there any other good solutions for typing up a post with formatting and multimedia? And do you this in an admin page or something else? Been thinking about creating a blog from more or less scratch, so I'm really curious to see how other people are doing it.
