on: FBI pushing for surveillance backdoors on websites
If al-Qaeda can build their own bombs and guns, I'm pretty damn sure they can set up their own secure Email & VOIP servers.

on: Arizona Looks to Outlaw Internet Trolling
Last time I was in Arizona, I was pulled over for being a "potentially undocumented alien". I have red hair and pale skin. Next time I'm visiting my parents, I'll be pulled over and arrested because I made a bad joke online. Arizona, you're pathetic.

on: Geohot Arrested for Marijuana Possession En Route to SXSW
I grew up in Arizona and Border Patrol is everywhere down south. It looks like Geohot ran into a permanent checkpoint. Seems like a really poor choice.

Great work on CardNap. Do you have a Dribbble account or a portfolio so we can preview some of your other work?

What a fantastic contribution & thanks for considering MIT/MPL. This will definitely come in handy as a small side side feature for user profiles on my upcoming projects.

on: The Airplane Graveyard in Arizona
I've driven by here many times, very eerie, completely empty of people or activity of any kind. If you look closely there's a few 747's and everything.

on: Atheism in America
> "But Johnson is far from unique. As I found out when I travelled across the US last year, atheists live in isolation and secrecy all over the country."
That statement makes me sick. So horribly incorrect.
I'm tempted to guess that the author spends a lot of time around religious groups and churches, and thus, doesn't see many atheists on a daily basis.
I, on the other hand, spend almost no time around churches, and when I traveld across the USA 4 times in the past 3 years, I met a lot of atheists - and they definitely weren't in isolation.

Very clever. You have a unique idea and a great product so far.
In my opinion, you should really avoid calling yourself the ___ of ___, aka, IMDB of Clothes. I'm sure you can come up with a more appealing one-liner!

I checked out a few of the titles, and from the sampling I took, they were all 2011 releases.

Stumbled into it on twitter by @noah_halter, not sure where he found it.
And... my bet says a bright orange to dark green gradient will never be in style.

on: Why 6AM Works For Me
"...because of commuting." makes me wonder how much you hated commuting. If your habit was to wake up at 6AM for something that you disliked, I'd say that's your answer right there.
I have my coffee out on the fire escape, maybe do a few pull-ups, and dive straight into work 10-15 minutes after I wake up. I then break for a late breakfast and a shower 2-3 hours later.
I guess I forgot to mention that I work from home, freelancing right now - I'm not sure I'd have the same motivation if I was working full-time.

on: Why 6AM Works For Me
I was going to bed around 12-4, waking up between 10 and 12. I found that my evenings were too distracting & busy, and it was hard for me (personally) to get back into the workflow.

Diet is HUGE, I agree. I'm surprised there aren't more "Hackers should eat more Spinach" posts on HN.

on: Pictos Icon Font Server
Pictos & Pictos Font have been around for a while, and my bet is that the vast majority of UX/UI Designers know of Drew Wilson's work. This is an extremely clever solution for an age old problem: As designers, we can now enable our clients to swap out icons to match their updated text/copy content.

on: AdBlock Plus will soon allow "non-intrusive" ads by default
All I can think is... whatever happened to the good 'ole days of top quality advertising? There was a time, I'll admit - before I was born, that the population was excited for the next Coca-Cola ad. It was artistic and unique. It was something to look forward to. What happened to those days, and how can we get them back?
