That's why I decided to create "A Readable TechCrunch Feed," a simplified version of TechCrunch that focuses on delivering the most important news and updates in a clean and easy-to-read format. As I developed the tool, I found myself constantly frustrated with the bloated and cluttered nature of the original TechCrunch site, and I knew that others in the tech community would benefit from a streamlined version that focused solely on the content.
Overall, I created this tool out of a desire to improve the user experience for others who share my frustration with the overloaded UI of TechCrunch. By simplifying the site and making it easier to navigate, I hope to help others stay up-to-date on the latest tech news and trends without feeling overwhelmed or bogged down by excessive information.

hmontazeri | 3 years ago | on: Ask HN: Do you see value in a social cooking product?
I remember also having “date nights” with my gf (now wife) when we lived on different continents.
We would cook the same meal and walk through the steps while chat about it. Like I just did this, r u ready etc.

However the asynchronous part you mentioned is interesting and maybe something to think about, I always imagined it as a live thing where you discuss and learn together real time…
hmontazeri | 3 years ago | on: Make Catch-ups happen in different timezones
Except the next morning we were still determined to chase this goal. So to try and figure out how we were going to change the world, we said to each other: “Let’s Ketchup”.
So we decided to “ketchup” regularly with the goal to change the world. We set ourselves some rituals and commitments as part of our ketchup (mainly just for fun, first). Over time, we iterated on our process and our ketchup developed and evolved.
Now, after 3017920 minutes (over 40 “ketchups”), AND each of us moving countries/timezones multiple times.
We always made it happen We always made it meaningful
In the last year and a half, we have also started having regular ketchups with other groups of friends with different goals, some as simple as “just to stay in touch”. And again, we have found that with these other friends we also managed to ketchup and:
Always make it happen Always make it meaningful
Finally, as self-proclaimed “energy engineers”, we realized we really know how to “ketchup”. We know how to make it happen and make it meaningful, and now we are looking forward to sharing our secrets… and finally “Change the World”.
hmontazeri | 3 years ago | on: A Good Movie: Dead simple movie recommendations based on ratings and votes
My name is Hamed, and I've always wanted a simple way/stop when it comes to recommendations for movies .
Most apps/sites out there are overengineered, and you have to start voting on hundreds of movies you watched and liked to get proper recommendations.
Well, the problem with that is I don't have the time to do that.
Although there re good solutions like letterboxd lists - where people create and share list of movies - it's still time-consuming.
I'm lazy. I want it now, and I want to know the release year, director and summary of the plot. Maybe the poster, but that's more or less it.
So I've spent a day building it. Enjoy

I'm Hamed, the founder of airtape and I'm super happy to announce a new feature. We added multiple backups for audio recordings to make them fail-safe. Every couple seconds the recording will be saved to the cloud in the background.
If you're not familiar with airtape. It's a SaaS product for podcast and interview recording via web browser.
Best, Hamed

I am Hamed the founder of airtape.
With airtape you can record your podcast or audio session in studio quality directly from your web browser. No installation needed. You get high quality audio while making sure you get separate tracks, without voice interference, drift or quality loss.
Today I'm very proud to announce that it just went live. It's been a joyride since day one. The very first commit was done April 16th, so around 11 weeks ago now.
Today it reached a stable version with support for 16bit 44.1kHz WAVE, MP3 320kbps and MP3 128kpbs. Built in VoIP and many more awesome features which hopefully will make podcaster lives easier.
I want to thank all the beta testers who helped to improve the product. If you want to get a taste let me know here, I'm happy to give away couple 1 month free coupons.
Best, H.
