If you’re interested in building the kind of back-end systems that power Uber and Lyft, Zesty is a way to get in on the very ground floor of an engineering team with similar challenges. You’d be one of the first 5 engineers to join and would work closely with our founders.

One of the nice things about this approach is that it's broadly applicable to almost anything pre-scheduled. We use similar optimizations for matching drivers with jobs that need doing, and for optimizing routes across our system.

“I’ve noticed lots of Lyft drivers dropping the signature pink mustache from their cars. Many also don’t bother with the fist-bump introduction, another Lyft convention.”

This is very noticeable now. Lyft used to stand for a different customer experience to Uber, but now it's effectively the same. It's sad (although probably inevitable) that their growth has lead to such a dilution of their brand.

Kudos to AirPair, this is a really impressive and extensive lineup. Also, from what I understand (seems a little unclear...), these are interactive workshops not just talks, so I'm very much looking forward to getting involved.

Me too. I love it when a non-trivial concept like that can be effortlessly explained with a good diagram.
