Anybody knows why recently Youtube re-buffers every video when I hit replay? It might make sense for long videos but for relative short videos (music videos and the like), it's really frustrating.

Fascinating story but how is Apple genius here? Was it Apple's all along to acquire Lala, let Lala's engineers go before they exercised their options, somehow made Color a failure, then bought the all the engineers back on the cheap? The real genius (or at least real good biz person) in this story is Bill Nguyen, Apple just did what makes sense for them, it just happens that two of their acquisitions are Bill's companies.

Can somebody tell me what is technically interesting about Svbtle? How is it different from, say, Tumblr? It seems to be just a normal CMS with a minimalistic look. It does attract a lot of prominent bloggers in tech, which, to me, has more to do with Curtis's personal connections than any technical merits.

Because money is not everything. Once you have reached financial security like he did, you start yearning for other things like power or a legacy. He still has a long way to go to achieve all those things. If he "retires" now, before long, the name Kevin Rose will be forgotten, because there are plenty people in this industry who have achieved his level of wealth and success.

It's definitely a good start, but IMO the quality of the filters are not on par with those of Instagram.
A better JS filter library I found is CarmanJS. Check out their demos at http://camanjs.com/examples/presets
