on: Ask HN: How do you drive traffic to a new niche blog?
Shameless plug, but why not go the widget route? Widgetbox.com has channels that are used to link different blogs together, but that may not fit your niche requirement. People love to see relevant content, so extending your reach by creating a widget and allowing those that are interested in it to grab and spread your voice is by far the best way.
Look around for other energetic web users that think like you (you're just in a niche and not something completely unqiue, correct?) and network yourselves together. Also, driving traffic to each other increases SEO and overall awareness on the web with minimal effort.

on: Ask YC: Been going to BarCamps? (BarCampBoston3 is May 17th & 18th!)
I helped throw BarCampRochester3 - largest one in upstate NY! RITers represent! Gathering quality people who want to give something of interest to each other truly does cull the best and the brightest in an area.

Genius.com -> SalesGenius product. Can use as a straight web app or even integrate with Outlook. Also - cheap!

on: Ask YC: Are there any promising non-web startups?
I'm in the same situation - but its more of a psychological hurdle to apply to places that want X years of experience, when all I have under my belt as a soon-to-be new college grad is summer internship experience. Just be vigilant on craigslist and sites like SimplyHired and Indeed. There are tons of opportunities available and your net may simply have to be cast wider.
Oh, also - check out http://www.ventureloop.com for culling startups. I've found that these small companies have a ridiculously fast callback rate.

..and all the other goodies that was located at the Boston Computer Museum. Someone decided to plow it over when they were just so happening to put an interstate underground. Oh well. The commute to the airport is wicked fast now.

on: Abandoned Project: Make every webpage viewable back to Netscape 2.0
I find two issues relative to using this (sorry to be so quick on negativity):
- Screen readers. They won't work!
- Usability is somewhat odd, as the entire time the mouse cursor will be a "hand", making everything seem clickable.

on: People Who Like Meebo Don't Recognize This Girl (lesson on platforms)
It's not meant to be 'easy reading' - its like a new-age fuckedcompany.com that is gaining more traction in the bay area. His blog (as he freely admits) is just drawing attention to him and the start-up he is working on. Any PR is good PR, right?

on: Startups: How Twitter will pay the bills
The ability to have users actively go after advertisers to get contact pushed to them at any time seems like a win-win advertising model. I swear some other compan[y/ies] has/have done this before - does anyone know who? Also, given how unpopular (in my opinion) their usage of MTV on their site has been, could they pull this off and be profitable?

on: Ask YC: User feedback?
Do you like the captcha as well? I just checked it out and I was able to find it (as it is clearly labeled 'Feedback') and could enter whatever I want. But say you wanted to say something in a search result or your menu pane was missing something...would it all be routed through that one small link at the top of the page? I guess I'm going for how can I integrate it to be part of the user experience.
