Don't worry about it too much. It's just a way to configure your Emacs with some niceties while you're busy learning the editor. I've spent a bit of time digging through the starter kits and learning how everything is configured for the languages I care about. The keybindings mods and additions are much better than the Emacs defaults.
I use technomancy's, I'd assume the differences are negligible and great changes make their way back to technomancy.

I was a long time vim user too. I switched to emacs after witnessing slime and clojure. I can't image life without org-mode anymore.

- add two numbers
- build the project with dependencies
- display stack traces
- deliver static files
- generate html from code
- validate user input
- host with a web server
- reload the web server during development
- handle url routing
- log requests
- create custom middleware
- deploy to EC2
You may have glossed over some of the details.

Why demonize HFCS (over sugar) before science shows any of the conspiracy theorists claims are true? It sounds like the vast majority of anti-HFCS claims have no supporting evidence. As far as obesity is concerned, HFCS and sugar are probably equivalent.

Water can poison and kill you at a large enough dosage. Oxygen too. Treating cancer with homeopathy is harmless until the cancer kills you. All medicine (supported by science or not) carries some risk, the poison is in the dosage.
Woo practitioners are more than happy to bankrupt their victims, what's the harm?
