Last week's episode, Ask This Old House, had something similar. They swapped a normal front door lock/handle with a Bluetooth (or WiFi) controlled unit. The phone could be used with an optional WiFi extender. My head swirled with so many scenarios where things could be bad.

1) Leave the phone in the home, you'll never be able to get in! 2) Wireshark the WiFi 3) Hijack the signal

I'm sure the dark side is waiting for us all to adopt IoT in our homes. I prefer my mechanical locks, thank you.

I can relate to a certain extent. I had the opportunity to interact with an early Google employee (Ex-professor) and I did't pursue or dive into that domain. I could have been more successful in a technical field. Now I do Program Management :)

I'm not sure why Autoblog is giving stock analysis. Tesla's stock will be determined by sales, revenue and global rollout. Autoblog's vehicle opinion is irrelevant.

People need to work in industries they enjoy, but, yes, everyone should have a good understanding of the labor market (salaries, demand). Re-location should be an option too. Lower salaries in a low-cost region might work out.

This article reminds me how many time Europe has had to rebuild or reconstruct in the recent 500+ years. Rebuilding forces societies to start from scratch and think of new methods/alternatives.

Does anyone know if South Asian cities have had similar forced rebuilding efforts? I don't think they have. Natural disasters have not level-ed a city. War/Invasions have lead to attackers being assimilated.
