that's a very good question ramgine. you might as well start with the wiki. i'm a bit biased because i wrote a lot of it but i just took a look after who knows how long and it still holds up. it even had a link to one of my open meshes, a project i started called Zer0share, but that's been moribund for ages or at least i'm not on it. you never know with a mesh it could still be chugging along...the thing is, meshes are private by design and by nature. waste has always been catnip for introverts, with its silent status box sitting quietly in the corner of a screen sometimes showing no activity for weeks. it's not even unusual for members to spend months, or more, pondering the admission of a new addition (once admitted one can't be expelled. the mesh itself needs to be rebuilt). but if you like, take a look at the Zer0share parent thread from Napsterites linked here. you may find it helpful.

i've been running a mesh since waste's release. yes, proper set up is a bit challenging but after that it's set and forget - as in it's never been down in all this time. flexible chat rooms, individuals or multitudes simultaneously. decentralized and encrypted of course with chaff no less and file transfers of any size can be especially fast. it's actually perfect for small groups. anything under fifty or so users and it's stable. certainly more stable than the community, which ebbs and flows.

phenomenal site. while the content is upped by users the fact that multiple rips were found on the same page; SDR, HDR, HDR10, 264, 265, 720, 1080, 2160, dubbed, original, theatrical cuts, director's, producer's etc. was all on the brilliant, dedicated folks of rarbgtor and is what made the site the best in the world. nothing else even approaches it. like OiNk wiithout the drama. i'll remember the time spent there with gratitude and fondness. and I just installed two more 20TB drives, less than 18 hours ago...

correct. about as long as a typical academic research career, with an extra margin thrown in for emeritus positions to be on the safe side. get the boffins' grand kids through college etc. anyway, there won't be grids in 50 years. or if for some sentimental reason there still are 95% of us will be off the failure prone things while making, storing and using our own uninterruptible power safely at home. much sooner really. i can't even imagine being on the grid in 10 years let alone 49. no way then to distribute the staggering costs for what will be the planet's most expensive and complex power plants.

Hotest water you can stand. Blast copious amount over lenses, both sides. This removes some grease and large grit. Put several drops of detergent on finger tip and rub onto thumb tip. Using thumb and finger coat detergent onto both sides of both lenses then rub gently. A few seconds is all you need. This removes all remaining oils and suspends any remaining grit preventing friction scratches during cleaning. Rinse lenses with hot water and gently dry with paper towel. Hold up to light to check progress. Remaining smears if any come off with paper towel. Been doing it for decades. It never scratches and it cleans like new.
