It has been designed in mind keeping following points:

1. It saves your team members time and energy. They no longer have to spend time searching on the web.

2. It encourages continuous learning. They spend a few minutes daily to keep up to date rather than sit through online training which can be expensive, time-consuming and may get out of date.

3. Since these articles are written by the domain expert, they often contain knowledge not readily available in books or online training.

4 It encourages team learning when integrated with a channel.

Hi Peter,

I lived in US for 7 years, 2 years studying and 5 years working as software engineer (Microsoft, Startup). I came back to India 4 years back, started a company and now employs 10+ folks. Our customers are from US.

We want to setup an office in US and I want to come there to setup and work for my company to hire people and increase sales.

What is the best part to achieve this?

Yes, phone makes about 20% of the requests for us. However, we have received requests all over the board from cement, steel, home appliances, industrial machinery, computer/laptop etc.

From our experience, the prices published online are not necessarily negotiated price. They come to us because we do online research as well as in person negotiation with bunch of retailers/distributor to get them the price. For example, we sold a TV worth USD 2300 for 1911, a price not available anywhere online.

In a way, this crowd sourcing platform will help discover negotiated prices that people are buying the products for.

NOTE: Negotiation is a common habit in India.

People are willing to share their purchasing info or receipt in exchange of

(1) Ability to request a negotiated price (which we will do on their behalf) AND/OR

(2) Ability to see at what price other people are buying the product nearby.

About a week ago, my team and I also launched a similar service in India - Genie (www.getagenie.in). I am happy to answer any questions or concerns from Indian market standpoint. We have built a concierge technology platform that our crowdsourced Genies (of course we handpick only the best) uses to serve the customers. We take a bit different route in pricing/offering where we provide an actual assistant (ofcourse shared and available via text, call or email) who takes the customer to know personally and provide both reactive (customer asking for a plumber for example) and proactive (Genie coming up with ideas on customer anniversary for example) services.
