SEEKING WORK | USA | Remote

I’m a CTO / VP of Engineering / Chief Architect / Founder looking to help others in those roles or aspiring to them through active mentoring and coaching.

I have been a leader of high-performance engineering teams for most of my 20-year career. This has provided a deep understanding and appreciation for the challenges of building and launching new products, managing and growing teams, setting technical vision, and handling acquisitions. Whether you are part of a Fortune 100 company or a 2 person startup, navigating the personal and organizational growth required to operate effectively in these environments can be daunting. My mentoring relationships have been formative for me, and I really enjoy helping others in the same way.

I have openings for new clients right now, so if you are interested, send me an email, and let's talk.

Email: [email protected]

Note: While I am on Eastern Time, I actively work with people in Asia, Europe, and the US. So geography and time zones are not a barrier.

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA (Eastern Time) Remote: Yes Willing to relocate: No Technologies: Go, C, Python, Ruby, Javascript, Dart / AWS, GCP, Docker, Terraform / Bluetooth, MQTT, Cellular, GPS Résumé/CV: Upon Request Email: [email protected]

I am most interested in helping early-stage or high-growth companies with their DevOps or IoT projects. I have extensive experience with large-scale SaaS and full-stack IoT products (firmware, embedded software, Bluetooth, cellular, GPS, cloud, etc.). On the cloud side, I specialize in cost reduction and removing systemic complexity through automation and sound architecture. For IoT products, I can help anywhere in the stack and at any stage of product development.

I’m open to project-based work or serving as a more embedded fractional DevOps or development team.

jmm57 | 13 years ago | on: Ask HN: Is it worth open-sourcing my early stage startup?

Maybe not main stream users. However, the market right now seems to be early-adopter-type camera geeks in San Francisco. I would think open sourcing the application would garner some serious respect from that crowd, if not trust.

The title of this reminds me of the awful "5 Simple Rules to Reduce Belly Fat" banner ads.

That said, it's an interesting read. Especially for someone that lives in the instant-gratification world of web apps.

As a low-karma, long-time lurker, I'm not sure I've ever really seen the kind of submissions he is looking for. Can someone provide examples of submitted content that would meet his criteria of deeply technical discussion worthy news?
