on: Roboto: Google’s signature font is now open source
Hmm... What's up with this page?
"Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition has blocked a page!
Malware detected!
Access to this page has been blocked."
Any idea what's in there tripping out Bitdefender?

on: RT's Abby Martin speaks out against Russian invasion of Crimea 3/3/2014
I love the RT news channel but cannot comprehend what good any military action by Russia will bring.
Well done to Abby for adding her strong personal opinion, not to be outvoiced by that of the state.

On further inspection it looks like it's just diverting to show my localhost:80 here.

on: Ask HN: Do you use Google Now?
Google Now is great if you travel a lot by road and have regularly occurring destinations and/or at regular times. It has a great ability to predict "Are you going to xyz?" - If you answer yes, it already knows where you are going and presents the satnav all ready to go with traffic reports etc.
I find that so so handy.

When they say 'wind' do they mean all the hot air produced by all the people using it?

on: Ask HN: What music do you listen to when hacking?
Anything with a good consistent rhythm and beat is good for me. I particularly find that (surprisingly!) liquid Drum & Bass helps get you in 'the zone' of concentration.

on: Show HN: Sesame, the wireless Mac lock
Serious call centres are red hot on data protection, at least here in the UK. I can imagine these being useful there. That said, with 200+ of these little things in one building i can imagine the bluetooth range might get a tad busy!

on: Ask HN: How does your CV look like?
Always keep to two pages maximum. I have a lightly coloured header with my name in large letters at the head of page 1, the rest in a nice, clear, structured list of skills and previous jobs.
If I remember later on I'll link it up here for you to see.

on: Ask HN: What's your linux distro?
If you're looking for an aestheticaly pleasing desktop with lots of shiny, Ubuntu and Mint are the still the flavours of the month.
As a proper computer user, mind, add another +1 to CrunchBang Linux. Works great on my desktop as it very nippy without bloat but the laptop was the best to benefit as I can easily get an extra hour or two from the battery life because of it.

It's an excellent idea if your code evolves too much to keep up with approximate line numbers alone.
