I think she offers a fresh perspective in American politics. I hope she continues to do so in the future.

If Linux survives that long I will be very happy. It always reminds me of how great collaboration between humans can be :)

I'm so happy something like this exists. I absolutely love TRON and anything that relates to it. I was really sad that Disney didn't push for a third movie.

on: Show HN: Find a Study Buddy for your MOOC
This is a fantastic idea. With some MOOCs, I tend to procrastinate heavily, so I hope societal pressure from a study buddy would help me avoid that :)

on: Delay, Deny and Deflect: How Facebook’s Leaders Fought Through Crisis
Makes me think about the quote ‘It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!’
Of course they don’t care about anything but profit and growth because it’s what makes them richer.

on: Ask HN: If I use GSuite does Google mine my data for their own purposes?
Thanks for this. I assumed anyone that visits HN knows what Google does, especially after the whistleblowing and revelations in the past few years. I agree that it would’ve been better for me to add a few citations or proof, so here’s [0] the first search result when searching for google+surveillance on DDG.

I believe Google is a surveillance company, and I like to think that anything they do has something to do with that. I would love someone to prove me wrong though, because what they're doing is so dystopian.

If someone is really close to me, I don't mind them tagging me in stuff like that. But if we're just acquaintances, I hate it.

on: Are You Ready for the Nanoinfluencers?
I think online advertising is mostly a hoax, with very few exceptions. I usually dismiss anything that remotely resembles an ad and just shut it off, even if it was really interesting. So I tend to think that the companies that pay for ads online are the ones paying for the cost of browsing the Internet for free, so I hate ads a bit less after that :)

I feel like it's scary what we've reached. Giving all our browsing history and activity to a surveillance company.

I think what would happen is the opposite. Apple users would just stop using these apps and look for alternatives that exist on the App Store. Adobe tried to do what you're suggesting with Photoshop and it failed; now they're going to offer PS to the iPad.

I think what he’s doing is reckless and his behaviour is really immature. A CEO is supposed to be doing the opposite of everything he has been doing for the last few weeks.
