Just like, say, Norway. Oh wait, Norway has the highest standard of living in the world.

I've looked for tech jobs in Eugene and found virtually nothing. The only tech workers I know there have remote-work jobs in bay area companies.

Many credit cards have cash-back or other rewards. It's easy to see the dual appeal of the reward, plus a month's worth of float on the payment.

There's no way to eliminate smallpox completely now that it has been sequenced, unless you can also get rid of the digital copies as well. It's getting easier and easier to print DNA and RNA. We might not be able to print a full virus yet but it's only a matter of time.

Hmm, I think there's an edge-condition bug. Starting with fib(0), its values are (0,1,2,3,5,8...) instead of (1,1,2,3,5,8...).

Methylation and other base modifications (there are 20+ last I checked) are taught in upper-level biology courses. I guess the people who write biology texts consider this advanced material.

on: The plane that can fly backwards
I used to have a Piper Colt parked at San Carlos (CA) that had a 50kt stall. Occasionally I'd go out to the ocean on a windy day, catch the 60-70kt winds over the ocean cliffs, and fly backwards. :) It was a fun way to freak out passengers.
