I tried contacts twice, a few years apart. On both occasions, a few weeks in, I ended up sitting in front of an opthalmologist having had what seems to have been a corneal abrasion from the contact lens. The opthalmologist couldn't find anything wrong, and I can only guess that maybe a dry eye caused the lens to stick to both the ball and lid, then moving the lid yanked the lens and in turn the ball. Seriously sharp pain and eye streaming.

"Owing to Britain's recent Brexit-related problems.." -- I'm not aware of any Brexit-related economic problems. On the contrary, all news I've seen since has been positive, to the surprise, and disappointment, of many.

Agreed. I used to use the app religiously, I'm now using News Republic more often. I don't watch on the TV at all anymore, it makes me feel foul. I remember watching a BBC journalist throw bottles of water for a group of desperate people, who reacted by sidestepping the bottles and continuing to watch the idiot in front of the camera, completely disinterested in the water. Of course, he only started "assisting" the desperate after he'd finished his drawn out description of how desperate they were. They're increasingly tabloidy in order to maintain market share, but it's just increasingly repulsive.

The UK is as corrupt as everyone claims Russia is, starting with the BBC. Theresa May has turned out to be a tyrant. As a Brit, I don't know if I'm more disgusted by the arrogance of the ruling class, or the apathy of the subservient working class. Dystopia is here. Talk of bloody revolution is not necessary - the first cyber revolution?
