Technically true but wrong. If your oldest Facebook post is from 2015, how likely is it that you've been using the internet before 2005?! Archeologists are very smart people in their own right, some are much smarter than we are. They do consider everything that we think they haven't. Let's give some benefit of the doubt to our fellow researchers.

This has to be the most misunderstood comment. Honestly eve tho I don't work for an and centric company I do feel what you went through. Because of how much YouTube helped me, I couldn't bear myself using an ad blocker. Then things like Patreon and sponsorship deals came along and I decided to treat myself a nice ad blocker. Still couldn't do the full thing, so I went with one called "fair ad blocker" that actually let's in some no -intrusive ones so it's a little light on my conscience. Still using it. It let's in some annoying pop ups too sometimes, but such is the price.

Wish this article gained more traction on HN, very interested in what quantum tech savvy folks have to say about this.

I am torn on this issue, maybe I don't see the whole picture. Uber was never meant to be a taxi company. It was a means for people with cars to share their gas expenses. I don't know how could they ever prevent this gig from becoming a full-time job for most drivers, but I think forcing employment is not a solution.

Only thing that can compete with this is if pornhub decided to ban porn.

Same argument could be made about social media. Just because you don't see folks prostituting themselves for a minute of fame doesn't mean... wait a minute ... never mind.

That is the most insane thing ive heard. Am i to pay extra for every person passing by the billboard ive designed?! Who thought this was ok?! So i could go broke if my website goes viral for the wrong reasons?! Insanity.

Prob not but itd shake everything up. They'd have to get a lot of loans, and maybe sell out the company. For comparison, banks allowed to go as high as 10:1 so 383:1 is insane.

I don't care how broad your definition is, it shouldn't include the mp4 files in my hard drive.

As someone used to shorten his links a lot, that was my biggest concern. As an avid blog reader tho i tried avoid short links as much as i could, although very often to no avail.
