The company I work for seems to be trending toward remote. It feels like a bad trend to me - quality of work is lower. Creativity is lower.

Put me in a room with a few other folks, some whiteboards and some laptops and magic happens. Hanging around the house and chatting on zoom+slack is boring, pathetic and produces no magic.

You see what you want to see. These are not true in my daily life,

1 "Rich, powerful, greedy people and corporations just get richer, more powerful, and more greedy." 2 "Everyone seems to increasingly be in it for themselves, not for society." 3 "Or, people who are in it for society tend to lose or to get screwed until they give up."

Dial back the doom and gloom mindset. It's an abundant world.

I don't know if the pattern is the same for Toronto and the SF Bay Area.

I simply want a way to rent warehouse space in a light weight way - without signing a two year lease. Always cool to share workspace with like minds too.

Thank you.

labratmatt | 11 years ago | on: The Problem with Positive Thinking

The author is confusing positive thinking with blind, without-a-plan, plowing ahead. They're not the same.

Optimism and positive thinking are close synonyms. Positive thinking is the a belief that there is a solution to the problem and that you, as a problem solver, should be open to the paths that lead to the solution.
