I am amazed how many companies do the exact opposite. Most small and no-name companies I applied to interview like Google and pay less than average.
Also, not sure what's with all the panel interviews. Everybody and their grandma wants to pitch in on the new guy.

Most C developers I have met are not very active online. Talking about their work in person is also a mixed bag. Maybe they just don't like talking about it.

By top talent do you mean FAANG employees, well-known experts/researchers or maybe people like Max Howell? What qualifies as elite?

I don't see how paper bags aren't better. Both plastic and paper require processing. The difference is that paper isn't toxic when degraded, plastic is.

Are you actually making mistakes or does he single you out for no reason? If he is unhappy with your performance, you can ask for reassignment to something you think you would be good at.
If he is doing it with no real reason, he probably just wants you gone.

Killing the current web frameworks would probably do it. Gigabytes of RAM and constant processor time for basically text and images. I don't understand how all this bloat is accepted and encouraged.

Try evaluating pros and cons for TDD on your current project and make a decision together based on them.
Currently you're just proselytizing and thinking about only what you like and how you want to work.
