I look at it a different way.

Maybe we really are so insignificant that ultimately it doesn't matter. So, we might as well make the most of the time we have here!

Speaking for myself... Some of us care about this little spec of dust, so we try to challenge those who want to destroy the planet. We like making cool stuff, building little empires, and also making our communities fun and thriving!

May I ask what exactly you're building? You said software for Marketing folks. Is this an area that you have expertise in (maybe worked in Marketing before, or were building adjacent marketing software)?

I did a project on this in like 2010 as a student hobby project. It wasn't accurate, but I also had no idea what I was doing. I mostly did it in a naive way, where I mapped out signal strengths in various rooms (it was dorm floor, 2 rooms shared each) and then trying to figure out where I was based on it. As a non-CS student I thought it was cool......
