Totally. Now I realize that Instagram is here to stay at least for a while. Posts & stories is a perfect combination in their case. As a result we don't see as much spam in the feed like on Twitter. Want to post more? Just do stories.
Your thoughts on Discourse are also interesting. Added it to my notes. Will give it a try when there is a moment.

Based on the fact that more people are going remote, this is a bit concerning for me. It would be awesome to have a place online where you can make friends based on different hobbies / profession.

Yeah, me too. Subreddits cover some of the use cases for me, but threads are more different to search compared to the forums.

It depends on your knowledge of these tools. But you seem to be a wise guy. So I would say you are totally right, since I don't want to waste my time arguing.

this is very reasonable in terms of flippa and other tools. in terms of 3 different languages - each is good in its own way. i would agree that rails could be totally replaced with node. but overall picking the right tool for each specific problem allows to move faster. you probably know how many languages are used at the backend of github, google, twitter etc.

on the one hand you are totally right. on the other hand there are many companies trying to implement their BI solutions from scratch, this foundation could be a good fit for them. anyway, thanks for your feedback, I highly appreciate it.

The reason behind selling the project is that our team decided to split up and angel investors need their money back. Nobody does marketing now and I began to work on other initiatives.

but we all know, that most ideas change significantly. if there is enough capacity of the team, why not launching several things? time is the most expensive resource. when you do a problem - solution fit several directions & products can be tried.
everyone has vision, even people who don't start companies. when you start a company you want it to succeed, because 90% of them fail. sticking with one idea doesn't make sense. maybe it was true 10 - 5 years ago. Now there are so many cloud services, which help to roll out things in days instead of months.

do you know any good examples of complimentary ideas?
in terms of unrelated ideas: Max Levchin started Glow and Affirm almost at the same time, Elon runs two companies.
additionally, at the lower level, programming patterns are almost the same.

I am looking for an opportunity to continue working on my own product. It looks a way better idea to work part time rather than to dilute my equity share just because of money. I want to find hardworking teammates first and then conquer the world with VC. Until that moment I am thinking about sharing my knowledge and applying my skills somewhere on part time basis.

since you know this stuff really well, could you recommend some good articles about ibeacon? what did you use to build your app?
