I started using Cookie Auto Delete extension with Firefox. Now I just accept all and the extension takes care of removing the cookies as soon as I close the tab. Logging in again and again on the regular sites is not even an annoyance a with a password manager.

A number of packages provide webview, which can be used to render html pages.

Revive apprenticeships - where learner goes to master and learns directly from the one who practices the skill on a daily basis. In modern wold, this responsibility should rest on tech giants, who should have dedicated apprenticeship programs; and they should pay apprentices an honorarium for investing their time in studying their area of their, instead of their competitors.

For some reason, I don't know/understand, this responsibility got shifted to taxpayer.

That's a completely different thing. Purpose of school education is to nurture a human child into a member of society, who understands her rights and duties; posses the knowledge and tools to exercise her rights, and discharge her duties. University has nothing to do with this.

Quran and Hadith, devoid of their historical context, leave them open to application as required, to safeguard the interests of the ruling elite. It's all about power and organised religion is one of the most potent tool to keep masses in check.

+1 for Spacemacs. Former vim user, now using smacemacs for past few months.

I found a number of things just work way better in emacs than in vim. For example, web-mode was a revelation for me. I could never get vim to get syntax right in mixed HTML-JS files.

Ability to edit very large files with ease was another one in favour of emacs. Vim would freeze up for a seconds or two while saving even half a megabyte file.

helm and family blew my mind away.

Another win spacemacs is it does not hide default emacs functionality. All default emacs keyboard shortcuts would always work, so learning vanilla emacs is still helpful.

Once I got to know spacemacs shortcut layout, it was surprisingly intutive.

(YMMV)

mnazim | 10 years ago | on: Ask HN: I Have Cancer. What Should I Do?

It's difficult to imagine the shock and stress your must be carrying on you shoulders at the moment.

- Keep doing whatever you are doing, normally. Nothing changes in the routine.

- Change only things that will affect your mental and physical health positively. Seek professional counseling and familial moral support.

- Will to live. I cannot stress how important this one is. One of my acquaintances, given 15 - 30 days by doctors in his early 40s, survived 25 years, married off his children, retired from government job at 58, and lived peaceful later years. I personally think his will to live was the primary factor.

- Solitude has healing properties, but don't isolate yourself generally. Try to stay in the company of people who make you happy and calm and stay away from people who constantly keep talking about your predicament in a way that will bring your mood down.

- Start treatment, as soon as possible.

My prayers with you!

Less promises, more delivery, on time.
I am a web application developer specializing in Python, Django, and related technologies(open and enthusiastic in exploring other technologies). I have very good experience in developing highly data driven applications. I have also developed high-traffic web apps for local government projects(details available on request). I am also well experienced in developing content driven websites.

PS. I am also in touch with 2 more developers and a killer UI designer. Team expansion should not be problem.
