I agree however as someone who works with a number of H-1Bs (who id argue should be here) my concern is always the collateral damage. But regardless either way things seem broken

I am just hoping self driving cars come out in the next 5-10 years and hopefully that expands the geographic area you can reasonably live in and still commute to work.

on: Why the Future of Work Is at Home
This, I think letting individuals/teams figure it out is the best option. Some projects, and even specific times within a project, call for being physically with the team and other times i am more productive being able to just focus on a task at home.
Also I find that my time spent in the office depends on the season. During the Spring and Fall when it is a perfect temperature for being outside i love going into the office and being able to go out for a nice lunch outdoors somewhere with coworkers.

on: When Movies Fly: How Modern Internet Experience Is Made Possible by Airplanes
I work in the ediscovery industry, we very regularly need to send large collections which can easily be a TB+ to another location on short notice. One of our favorite things to do with new folks is have them hop on a plane with a hard drive, give it to someone at the airport, and get right back on the same plane.

on: Airbus proposes new drop-in airplane “cabin modules” to speed up boarding
this in my opinion is the real issue, when i fly international people tend to check bags/the planes have ample overhead bin space i always find that the boarding process goes surprisingly fast. On domestics inevitably someone boards the plan sitting in row 6 but all the overheead space is full until you get to row 10 and they stand there confused for a few minutes

on: Microsoft Buys German To-Do List Startup 6Wunderkinder
They bought a tool called Equivio too, i work in the ediscovery/legal world and it was very rapidly becoming the industry standard. My understanding is Microsoft is going to integrate alot of the functionality into office/outlook, theres a lot of uncertainty as to what will replace it.
Maybe time to pick up some stock hah they seem to be making succesful purchases that make sense vs "diworsification"
