You had me at Big Mac. Maybe.

It seems like such arbitrary conditions you set in order ...wait a minute, I just noticed the website is "growthsensei.com", that's like Guru level 88?

Aaand that's all my time for the day.

mustefaj | 13 years ago | on: Never Have the “What Would It Take to Keep You Here?” Conversation

That mock monologue is actually really spot on. I just recently left our bootstrapped startup and had a pre-emotive conversation shortly before doing so. It played out just like that.

I shared this link on HN already but since its so relavent here it is again. I wrote about why I still left. But didn't write about the conversation I had. And you hit it on the head. http://mustefa.com/looking-back-at-my-ux-career-in-2012/

mustefaj | 13 years ago | on: Why we won't sign your NDA

Pretty meh. As much as there's a sea of ideas out there, ever increasing is the see of dev and design talent. Get over yourself. If there wasn't such an arrogance around your post I may have given it credence. I can tell you more, but my feedback requires you sign an NDA.

Sincerely,

An Internet nobody.

mustefaj | 13 years ago | on: Why LinkedIn's "recommend" system is broken, and how to fix it

I agree with the people calling the solution as bogus. I'm not a pro python developer, but I can sure vouch for the skills of many developers I've worked with based on my experience in working with them. And that's a fairly accurate recommendation.

Sorry the similar skill set limit is bogus.

mustefaj | 13 years ago | on: The Evolution of Culture At A Startup

Though a question, related to the article I linked, how specific do you get in trying to define your guys culture versus being malleable to change. Do you have an example?

mustefaj | 13 years ago | on: Ask HN: How is office music handled at your startup/company?

We play stuff if the office is quiet, not a lot of people. Simple communication works "is this distracting anybody?".

AirPlay gives control to whoever wants it. So if you're going to play some gangsta rap, get ready for some lykke li.

edit gangsta rap is a rarity.
