I actually just recently looked in to the 1015E, and I almost bought one but then decided to get a Samsung Chromebook. My top requirements were battery life, portability, and at least a 1366x768 screen (so that ruled out most 10" systems). The Chromebook is working out really well; its 7-hour battery life is awesome. The 1015E probably would have been OK too, but its battery life wouldn't have been as great. Kudos to Asus at least for loading Ubuntu on the 1015E-DS02.

Yes, especially since the card type is typically in the bottom corner of the card, so for a while it just looks like it's reloading the same image.

Last I checked, making a Hackintosh was a lot of work (when it's even possible). And that's what happens when installing OS X on 95% of hardware.

Doesn't Linux technically have better hardware support than Windows, too? I've seen many laptops where a fresh install of Windows will be very broken until you load up the manufacturer's pile of drivers. Linux just has more useful built-in drivers, but I'd say that equals better hardware support.

And I seem to remember something about Google requiring all apps to light up the screen, to avoid the whole "stealth" thing.

Actually, SVG can use "classes" just like CSS, so it could be easily recolored in SVG too.

Geocities? From the first time I saw someone recommend pasting some javascript in the Description box, I knew Tumblr was the new Myspace.

I just use Unity on my computers, but I tried out Pantheon today (in elementary OS) and it's seriously cool. The window management is fairly similar to Unity but more streamlined, and the workspaces are vastly superior. The panel and dock are like what Gnome 3 should have been.
