on: Show HN: ShowList – Share Bands You've Seen Live, Discover New Bands
I really like this. My wife keeps a list of shows we've been to in a Google Sheet and I try to post a picture from each show on Facebook, so I think we would definitely use this. Right off the bat, I'd like to be able to add multiple shows for a single artist at the same time. I'd also like to add multiple artists for a single show. You might already have these things in your roadmap, but it's making data entry take longer than it should for me. I'll keep my eye on the site to see where it goes.

on: iPhone 5 with iOS 7 randomly shuts off
I had this same issue for the first time this past weekend. I was using the phone very heavily outdoors. Battery was just over 30% and I was recording videos. The phone cut off like the battery had died. When I tried to turn it back on, I got the same graphic. 20 minutes later, I turned it on and it was fine.

on: Tap your iPhone to unlock your Mac
This looks really cool, but it's pretty annoying that you allowed me to download and install on my Mac without telling me the iPhone app costs $3.99. In fact, I can't find anything on the website that says this thing does or does not cost money. Maybe you are hoping that people will assume it's free, download from the website, and then buy it on the app store because they already got that far. If so, it seems a bit dishonest.

on: A Printer That Can Print a 2,500 Square Foot House in 20 Hours
In the video, he proposes that the printer would have a second pick and place type arm that would be able to install plumbing and electrical systems. He claims that it could be used to do finishing work too, but there are no animations to suggest how that might work.

Did you see the video and pictures of the printer in the video? It wasn't full scale, but it wasn't far off either.

on: Git Tips for Beginners Interested in Open Source
Using rebase relative to HEAD can be tricky, and as others have mentioned, force pushing a branch is not usually a good idea.
When you are ready to submit a pull request, instead of rebasing the branch you have already pushed to origin, create a new branch called your_branch_name-final (I usually call the original branch -wip for for work in progress). Then, before pushing this branch to origin, run git rebase -i upstream/master.

on: Rod Brooks Reveals Baxter, Programmable Industrial Robot for the Masses
It would be great for consumers if these came with an app store where you could buy programs to do different tasks around the house (wash dishes, cook a specific meal, etc). If it was useful enough, it's not crazy to think that a family would spend 20k on one (same cost as a car).

on: The FBI's files on Steve Jobs
Isaacson's book mentions that Jobs and Clinton were friends. Most likely it was Clinton who was considering the appointment.
