https://RPAnytime.com — it's a site for play-by-post gaming, built for purpose instead of hacked together from forum software. Minimal JS. No users yet and it's running out of Activate credits in February, so... we'll see, I guess.

http://www.Earsmith.com is a "completed" (but unpublicized and probably only used by me) project I'm proud of — it's for training your pitch sense.

(Edit to fix Earsmith URL.)

I'm generally not a huge fan of templating "languages". (Probably because they're almost never actual languages, and typically when they are, they turn into symbol soup that doesn't look anything like the end result, structurally speaking.)

That said, I've been using Spinneret for a side project[1] for a while, and overall I'm very happy with it. It's nice to have macros like deftag and all the other magic powers of Common Lisp, and because of CL's syntactic simplicity, the templates remain easy to read and reason about while getting a lot done.

I recommend giving Spinneret a try!

ChatLingual | Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Senior Back-end Engineer | Denver, Colorado | Full-Time | ONSITE | 125k – 165k

We're an early-stage company. All of us here at ChatLingual share the "big picture" view and make intentional, well-considered decisions based thereon. When we make a decision to do something, we acknowledge and document the ramifications of that decision, including the things we're _not_ doing. We design systems and write code that we'll be proud of, and when that's not the case, we acknowledge it, document the details, and prioritize fixes appropriately.

ChatLingual gives businesses access to new markets by removing one of the oldest barriers to entry: language. We've built a platform that allows people to communicate in 89 languages, which companies can use to support their customers around the world. We are looking for two experienced, broadly-skilled engineers to join our team as we grow: we are currently hiring for one senior position.

Stack is Node.js, Postgres, Redis, and Angular hosted on AWS using Terraform. We get to deal with problems like horizontally scaling WebSocket servers, data pipelining, balancing power and flexibility with ease of use, and a lot of other bits of engineering fun.

More details can be found on AngelList[0] or by emailing us at [email protected]. You can also chat with me (hiring manager) on Freenode in #lisp or via PM.

Feel free to post comments with feedback/questions here or on Freenode — I'll be around.

Enough experience to have the skills required; this is not a junior position. No, we do not offer visa sponsorship.

oladon | 15 years ago | on: Ask HN: Who needs a job?

Boulder, Colorado. Unable to relocate.

I've coded a good deal in Perl, C, and Lua, and have been learning Scheme for quite some time as well. I'm comfortable with Linux (bash included), OS X, and Windows. I'm willing and able to learn new languages/systems.

Currently a senior majoring in Linguistics (human), though most of my jobs through college have been with computers.

Please feel free to email me -- my email address is in my profile.

This was good -- although I have to say, we femgeeks don't generally sport beards, I don't think. The rest still applies though.

Cool story. Partial and complete word-blindness have stymied researchers -- perhaps this solution can be extended and taught to others with that particular (albeit fairly rare) malady.
